Our Blessed Mother appeared to Sister Adele Brise on the
site of the National Shrine of Our Lady of Champion and
gave her this message:
“Gather the children in this wild country and teach
them what they should know for salvation.”
At the core of education is the realization that life itself is a
pilgrimage, and we are called to prepare ourselves and our
children for the journey.

Preparing the Body
Prior to the pilgrimage, consider adding walks to your weekly routine.
This would be a great family activity!
What To Bring
● A backpack
● Layered clothing and a hat – the Walk will take place rain or shine
● Whatever food and water you will require – consider bringing a brown bag lunch and staying to
socialize after the Walk
● Rosary
● Comfortable walking shoes
Our route for 2024 will be the same as the last two years, beginning and ending at the Cathedral
of St. Thomas Aquinas in downtown Reno. The full route is along the Truckee River to Ivan Sack
Park which is about a 4.6 mile loop. A shorter route is to turn around at Idlewild Park which is
about a 2 mile loop. Or you can loop back at any point.
If you would like to participate, but are unable to walk the route, please pray from wherever you
are in union with the Walk.
