Overview

Under the supervision of the principal, the campus minister helps create an environment which encourages and guides all members to contribute to the Catholic identity of the campus and the formation of a faith community which responds to the spiritual needs of the students, teachers, staff and parents. In collaboration with the administration, school chaplain, faculty and staff, parents, students, and partner schools, the campus minister brings to life a campus rich in the school’s spiritual growth, prayer, discipleship, sacramental experiences, social justice and preparation of leaders in service for the Church and society. 

 

High Level Accountabilities

  1. To Manage:
    1. The Campus Ministry Program and Department at Bishop Manogue Catholic High School.
  1. To facilitate the mission of the school being lived-out in all areas with the support of the administration. 
  2. Oversee School Liturgy and Prayer in cooperation with the Chaplain:
    1. The planning of all school liturgies.
    1. The planning of prayer services.
    1. The planning of weekly reconciliation and adoration.
    1. The visitation of clergy from around the diocese.
  1. Manage the Retreat Program:
    1. Develop, administer, direct, and evaluate all retreats at BMCHS.

                                                 iv.          Purchasing needs

                                                  v.          Contracts for venues and services in partnership with finance

    1. Pastoral support to students in need.
    1. Prayer to students in need/want.
    1. Opportunities for further support.
  1. Collaborate with the Chaplain to provide:
    1. Faith formation to all students, faculty, and staff.
    1. An annual faculty retreat.
    1. Weekly faith formation to faculty and staff.
    1. Prayer demonstrations for the community (a minimum of beginning and end of day).
  1. Collaborate with ASB and Director to coordinate:
    1. Service drives.
    1. Charitable events and opportunities.
    1. Partner school retreats and events.
  1. Collaborate with Academic Administration and the Special Programs Coordinator to:
    1. Organize service-related mission trips for the student body.
    1. Write a quarterly reflection/explanation for the parent newsletter.  
  1. Complete other Duties as assigned.

 

Professional Expectations

The Campus Minister is a consummate professional who exercises professional leadership qualities.  Strong verbal and written communication skills are required. The ability to manage, track, and execute multiple projects simultaneously is required.  The ability to project a strong positive image of Bishop Manogue Catholic High School to many constituencies both on- and off-campus is required.  The ability to develop knowledge of, respect for, and skills to engage with those of other cultures or backgrounds is required. Proven analytical skills are preferred.

 

Requirements

  • Confirmed and practicing Catholic.
  • Masters degree in education field or theology preferred; Bachelor’s degree acceptable if other qualifications are met and there is prior experience in Campus Ministry.
  • Strong human relations, communications, and marketing skills. The highest emphasis is placed upon relatability and relationship to high school students at varying levels of faith life.
  • Successful background check and Protecting God’s Children completion. 
  • Excellent organizational skills, detail oriented, efficient multi-tasker.
  • Must be enthusiastic, self-motivated, have high energy and a sense of urgency.
  • Experience making effective presentations before groups related to faith and Catholicism.

Detail: 

  • This is an hourly position, 14 hours per week for 36 weeks.  Instruction will occure for 45 minutes per class, kinder through 8th grade.  There is about 3 hours of prep time built in. 
  • This position will not qualify for insurance. 
  • This position will not qualify for pension.  

We are looking for a teacher aide for our kindergarten classroom. Candidate will have the opportunity to work alongside our talented lead teacher in a joy-filled classroom. Early childhood classroom experience is preferred. The aide will be working with small groups or individual students for math/ELA instruction and providing support for the lead teacher throughout the school day. Indoor/outdoor responsibilities include supervising students during lunch and recess.

The candidate must be a team player, work independently, be flexible, and hard-working with strong communication skills.

Catholic background is preferred.

POSITION OPENING – COORDINATOR OF YOUTH MINISTRY


Our Lady of the Snows Parish has an opening for a Coordinator of Youth Ministry. Under the
direction of the Pastor, the Coordinator of Youth Ministry oversees all administrative and
operational functions to build on and promote the youth ministry program currently in place in the parish.

Job Summary: At Saint Albert the Great Church, the Director of Catholic Religious Education
administrates (designs, develops, directs, and evaluates) a family-based catechetical program and provides
leadership to assist the parish and school community in building a solid foundation for family spirituality,
Christian living, ministry, outreach and sacramental preparation (First Reconciliation/First Eucharist,
Confirmation and the Children’s Catechumenate). In addition, it governs our high school Youth Ministry
program, with the eventual goal of adding a middle school Youth program.
Essential Functions:
• Designs family-based catechetical formation and sacramental preparation programs, which
support lifelong learning and growing in the practice of the faith.
• Maintains family-based catechetical formation and sacramental programs, which meet the needs
of various segments of the parish including the Catholic students at our parish school under the
guidance of the pastor and/or parochial vicar.
• Responsible for the recruitment, training, supervision, and evaluation of catechetical/sacramental
formation and youth ministry volunteers.
• Integrates insights from current catechetical literature into program planning.
• Develop goals, objectives, and strategies for the family-based catechetical formation and
sacramental preparation program(s) and high school (and eventually middle school) Youth
Ministry program(s).
• Schedules and adjusts all programs’ components (space, time, materials, etc.) as needed.
• Submits weekly schedules of catechetical formation, sacramental preparation, and youth ministry
activities for inclusion in the Master Calendar.
• Maintains relationships with the pastor, parochial vicar, other parish staff members, school staff,
directors of parish ministries, and the Diocesan Office of Religious Education
• Communicates with participants, parents, parish, and school-at-large to keep them informed of
family catechetical formation, sacramental preparation, and youth ministry efforts.
• Works within the budget allocated for the operation of the various programs.

• Responsible for coordination of special liturgical/sacramental celebrations for both the parish and
the school including First Reconciliation, First Eucharist, and Confirmation as well as participating
with the RCIA program with the inclusion of the families in the Children’s Catechumenate.
• Conducts program evaluation at all levels, collates evaluation information, and advises the pastor
regarding appropriate groups.
• Responsible for all other duties as assigned.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: College Degree or equivalent.
Experience: At Saint Albert the Great Church the Director of Catholic Religious Education is
encouraged to have one or more of the following:
• BA/BS in Theology/Religious Education or a related field
• BA/BS in Catechetics and Scripture.
• BA/BS in an unrelated field or no college degree with twenty-four (24) semester credits in
Theology and Catechetics and six (6) credits or 60 hours of in-service in the following areas:
administration, educational methods, supervision, catechetics.
• The Director of Catholic Religious Education is expected to have a minimum of three years of
teaching experience in a Catholic school or equivalent, experience in faith-based, relational
ministry with teens, and one year of administrative experience (paid or volunteer).
Skills/Knowledge: The Religious Education/Youth Ministry Director is expected to have capabilities in:
• Theology
• Program Coordination
• Coordination of Catechist Development
• Communication and Relationship
• Administration
• Pastoral Ministry and Teen Faith-Based

Coordinator of Adult Faith Formation

Primary Responsibility: The mission of the Catholic Church is to spread the Good News of Jesus Christ,
in other words, to Evangelize. The Parish acts as the focal point for the majority of this mission in which
the people of the parish, enlightened by the Gospel, desire to spread the Good News. Engagement and
Formation of Adult Catholics remains essential to this. As well, fully formed and engaged adults will help
form and engage our youth and young adults. The Mission of the Coordinator of Adult Faith Formation
will be to develop and grow opportunities for our adults and families to help them grow deeper in their
belief in Jesus Christ and to want to engage in the overreaching mission of the Church.


To facilitate these activities and to engage as many parishioners in the mission of the church, the
Coordinator of Adult Faith Formation will manage the activities, volunteers, and programs of the Parish
and work with other staff to provide opportunities to share in ministry. The Coordinator is not to “do all”
these activities rather to work to build a team of engaged parishioners.


Duties and Responsibilities:
◘ Coordinate the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA), which includes the recruitment and
formation of team members.
◘ Develop and plan programs and events that include, but not limited to:
o Small Adult Faith groups
o Bible Study groups
o Educational/Informative talks for parish.
o Seasonal Missions
o Men’s and Women’s Retreats and parish retreats
o Parish wide faith events
◘ Advent wreath making

o Taking groups to conferences and retreats.
◘ Coordinate with Pastor and Liturgy Committee on all liturgical events stemming from Adult
Faith Formation programs.
◘ Serve as liaison between the Parish and the Diocesan Office of Adult Faith Formation

Essential Qualifications:
◘ Catechist Certification required; advanced degree in Theology or Pastoral Ministry preferred.

◘ Practicing faith-filled Catholic committed to the post Vatican II Church and its mission.
◘ Has in-depth grasp of Church teaching
◘ Ability to work easily with computers, especially with Microsoft applications and Adobe
software.
◘ Must be able to work independently with varying work hours based on the needs of the job.
◘ Must be able to pass Diocesan fingerprint check and maintain certification in Protecting God’s
Children program.


Other Qualifications:
◘ Variety of ministerial experience: 2 years’ pastoral ministry preferred or 3 to 5 years’ experience
leading Faith Formation programs & activities.
◘ Demonstrates listening, communication, leadership and presentation skills.
◘ Ability to use social media platforms.
◘ Ability to work independently
◘ Desire to work as a team with existing staff and to bring outside help in to assist.
◘ Bilingual is preferred.


Job Schedule:
This job is a full-time exempt position. A flexible schedule is necessary all year round in order to
effectively manage all job responsibilities. Night and weekend work is required.
