Play + Pray in Your Home!

Looking for some fresh ideas on how to have more faith-based activities in the summer months?

Mike and Alicia Hernon of The Messy Family Project have some great ideas for you. To recap, they were insightful speakers who presented together as a married couple and family during the annual Reno Diocesan Conference in January. They are offering a faith-based fun family summer challenge!

This challenge is a great way to get families to spend quality time together in June, especially in light of the celebration of the Solemnity of the Sacred Heart. Details below.

Now, more than ever, we believe we need to support families! These 3 very simple but impactful challenges will start your summer on the right foot. You can share this post with your social community, fellow parishioners and friends!

Mike and Alicia challenge families to:

  1. Proclaim Jesus Christ as KING OF THE HOME.
  2. Organize and execute a fantastic FAMILY DAY.
  3. Plan and go on a DATE NIGHT.

The first part of our challenge involves the Enthronement to the Sacred Heart, a dedication of your family to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. This is such a powerful thing to do for the family and we want to share it with everyone we can! This year this feast is earlier than usual – it is June 7, 2024.

The downloadable digital kit makes it easy for families to take the challenge.

Each kit includes:

  • PDF download of our guide
  • Printable commitment cards
  • Digital download of logos
  • Printable Color Poster (11×17)
  • Printable Color Flyer (8.5×11)

Sign up for the Challenge and access this TOTALLY FREE promo kit!

The Play and Pray Challenge starts this June! Anyone who signs up for the challenge will receive a free pdf download with our challenge guide. This short booklet gives lots of ideas for the first two parts of the challenge – family fun day and date night – and also has the prayers for the enthronement of the Sacred Heart!

All families who sign up will have their family remembered at a special mass that will be celebrated by a number of wonderful priests.

In addition to our free Challenge Guide, we have included a high-resolution image of the Sacred Heart of Jesus which can be printed and framed.

Let’s make it a great faith-based family summer!

Share your experience with this kit, and let us know what you think!
