STATEMENT FROM MOST REV. DANIEL MUEGGENBORG, BISHOP OF RENO, REGARDING THE UNLV SHOOTING

I am deeply saddened to learn about the deadly mass shooting today at the University of Nevada campus in Las Vegas, and I express my condolences for the victims of this senseless act of violence.

The Catholic Church in the Diocese of Reno is joining in prayer for the victims and their families, and for the first responders and all law enforcement officials who selflessly put others before themselves. We also pray for the conversion of all who resort to violence and that we as a society will identify and address the root causes of such acts.

May our Lord Jesus, Prince of Peace, hold close all those affected by this horrific event.
