Malia O’Brien, Scoutmaster Troop 20 (G) in Carson Valley, shared these highlights at the National Jamboree, the Summit Scout Reserve, in West Virginia. Cardinal Pierre, Ambassador to US from Holy See, gave the homily. Cardinal Pierre was joined by Bishop Michael Fischer, Diocese of Buffalo.
The 2023 Jamboree had 16,000 Scouts and Scouters, from more than 50 different states, plus the, Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico, District of Columbia, Far East Council and Transatlantic Council. Summit Bechtel Reserve is the permanent home for all future National Jamborees.
