About The Bronze Pelican Award

This award is presented by the Diocesan Catholic Committee on Scouting in the name of the National Catholic Committee to any eligible adult, who serves Scouting under the auspices of the Catholic Church, who has made significant contributions to Scouting in the field of Catholic relationships at the diocesan level.

It was created by the Archdiocese of New York in 1944 to recognize outstanding contributions to the development of Catholic youth in the program of the Boy Scouts of America and in 1954 became a national Catholic recognition awarded locally.
