In Memory of Katie Histing: A Vibrant Student and Charitable Woman

Katie Histing, a former student of St. Albert the Great Catholic School and a graduate from Bishop Manogue Catholic High School lost her battle with cancer on November 25, 2024. Katie was diagnosed with Ewing’s Sarcoma in 2018 at just 17 years old during her senior year of high school.

After finding out her cancer was incurable earlier this year, Katie continued to fight on, never giving up.

She was a visible, vibrant member of the community, giving of herself tirelessly to the cause to create more awareness for childhood cancer. Katie embraced her art and creativity, and launched a business to support childhood cancer with Katie’s Collective. Proceeds from her business are donated to families with children who have cancer.

Katie most recently was a featured guest of KOLO News Morning Break, sharing her joy for her business, in the midst of her cancer. “It’s not as rare as you think, until it happens to you, ” said Katie during the interview with Katey Roshetko.

Earlier in the week, more than 100 family, friends and community gathered for a prayer vigil when Katie was airlifted to Reknown for cardiac arrest.

Katie will be dearly missed by the community and by everyone who knew and loved her. She impacted and touched the lives of many people. Please keep the family and those who loved and supported Katie in your prayers.
